I’ve been personally influenced by many healthcare professionals, military personnel, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS professionals, and educators in my life. A simple “thank you” has always been said, but these people deserve more than that. When I learned there was a way to reward local clients for their service through Homes for Heroes, I knew I wanted to be the connection between our local community and the program. I feel that’s the least I can do to say “thank you” in a much more meaningful way than I’ve ever been able to in the past for what our local first responders, military personnel, educators, and healthcare professionals do for us.
Being a first responder for over 30 years, I can personally say the extra “thank you” is appreciated. I know firsthand the work so many of these professionals do every day, often with little recognition.
Tony's Fire Service Bio and family's history:
I’ve been an active firefighter/EMT since 1996. I’ve worked as a full-time Captain for the Oregon Fire Department since 2001. My wife, Lisa, has been a paramedic firefighter for over 20 years and works as a full-time paramedic (Deputy Chief) for Deer-Grove EMS. My mother was a nurse in Madison for more than 35 years, and my father was a professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison for over 30 years. My family and I are dedicated to giving back to the professions we’re familiar with and care deeply about.
What is Homes for Heroes®?
Shortly after 9/11, Homes for Heroes, Inc. was established as a way to give back and say “Thank you” to local heroes for all they do. We provide Hero Rewards®, which is an easy way for heroes to save on a home, and on every day home-related purchases. Our heroes’ jobs are to help others. Ours is, too. With gratitude, we honor the selfless service of true heroes— firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, military (active, reserves and veterans), healthcare professionals, and teachers —by giving back. When a hero buys, sells or refinances a home with Homes for Heroes, they make it possible for us to help more heroes and hero organizations. That’s just like our heroes. Always helping.
Who qualifies as a Hero?
Current and former firefighters, EMS, law enforcement, military (active, reserves and veterans), healthcare professionals and teachers qualify to receive Hero Rewards.
How much could a hero save by working with you?
The Hero Rewards amount will vary for each hero. There are several variables that go into it, such as whether you want to buy or sell, and the price of the home, but if you visit homesforheroes.com to sign up, you can use the estimation slider to get an idea. On average though, a hero will save $700 for every $100,000 in sales price of the home so the savings are significant.
